10 years of memory

2000

During the year 2000, I was in the first grade. I went to Mississippi Boulevard Christian Academy, a private school. My teacher’s name was Ms. Webber. My Favorite movie of that year was Meet The Parents starring Ben Stiller. And the most popular song to me during that time was The Frosted Flakes theme song. I really didn’t care what the popular fad was when I was that young, because, my parents dressed me. What I remember most about that year was that it was my first year of actual school, and my first year at that school. I had previously went to Grace Christian Academy.


2001

During the year 2001, I was in the second grade. I had the same teacher, Ms. Webber, at the same school. My favorite movie of that year was The Mummy Returns. I did not have a best friend in neither first nor second grade, because all of those kids were very snobby, and walked around with their noses in the air. I don’t think there was a fad in second grade, if there was I didn’t know, because again I did not care. The only thing different about second grade was that my parents picked my clothes out, but I dressed myself. The most memorable thing about that year, was the World Trade Center collapsing.



2002

In the year 2002, I was in the third grade. I was still at the same school, but I had a different teacher. Her name was Ms. Peterson. My best friend during this year, was Annika Bailey. She is actually goes to my high school as well, and we are still best friends. My favorite movie during that year was John Q starring Denzel Washington. The fad during this year was bell bottom jeans. And I really can’t remember my favorite song, because I mainly listened to gospel music. The thing I remember most about that year was that it was the first year I made a true friend.


2003

During the year 2003, I was in the fourth grade. I was at the same school with a different teacher. Her name was Ms. Hardy. My best friends during this year was Mila Yarbrough and Ariel Staples. I don’t know what happened to Annika. My favorite movie of that year was Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey. The fad was still bell bottoms. The most popular song to me during that time was a song called Grateful by Yolanda Adams. The most memorable thing about this year was when the seven astronauts died on the Space Shuttle Columbia.

2004

During this year I was in the fifth grade. This was the year, I transferred to public schools. I transferred from MBCA to Double Tree Elementary. I was kind of like the social outcast of the school. My only close friends were Brianna Lauderdale, Aaron Walker, Framar Philips, and Shannon what’s his name. My teacher was Ms. Hastings. She was the nicest teacher I had ever met. My favorite movie of that year was Johnson Family Vacation. The fad during that year was Reeboks. If you had Reeboks you were with the in crowd. The most popular song was Excuse Miss by Chris Brown. The thing I remember most about this year was my first Double Tree Dolphin Coronation.

2005

During this year I was in the 6th grade. I was still at Double Tree Elementary, and my teacher was Ms. Williams. This year was more enjoyable for me, because I made more friends. My best friends this year was Kjanah, Nandi, Camille, and Darius. Ms. Williams was a funny teacher, because when she got mad she made ugly faces. That’s why I always got in trouble. My favorite movie of that year was Hitch starring Will Smith. The fad during that year was wearing Converse Chuck Taylors. My favorite song of that year was Shake by Pitbull. There are a few things that I will remember from this year. This is the year my only grandfather died. This is also the year my youngest brother was born. This is also the year Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

2006

During the year 2006 I was in the 7th grade. This was my first year in middle school. I transferred to the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering. My homeroom teacher was Mr. Smith. I did not really like Mr. Smith because he was lazy to me. My best friends during this year were Jasmine, Kjanah, and Terrance. They were my friends from Double Tree. My favorite movie of that year was World Trade Center. The fad during that year was stunner shades. All they basically were was a pair of overly sized shades. The song during that year was Walk It Out. I couldn’t do that dance at first for anything. But I mastered it after a while.

2007

During this year I was in the eighth grade. My homeroom teacher was still Mr. Smith, unfortunately. My best friends during that year were Jasmine, Yanie, and Tyler. My favorite movie during that year was Transformers. Stunner shades were still popular. The most popular song was Party Like A Rock Star. The thing I remember the most from this year was eighth grade week. That was the best week of my life. Especially the day when we went to the park, and the day we had the all white party. The last day was the graduation, and it kind of gave me a feel of what twelfth grade would be like.

2008

That year I was a freshman at the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering. I did not really have a homeroom teacher, because we were supposed to go to the gym every morning to exercise. I think it was in 9th grade that I really came out of my shell. My best friends were Jasmine, Kjanah, and Dominique. I actually did not like Dominique at first because she had the worst attitude I had ever seen. But she eventually came out of her shell too. She still has that same attitude, but it has gotten better. My favorite movie during that year was Hancock and Kung Fu Panda. The fad during this year was Aeropostale, Hollister, and Jordans. I really can’t remember the popular song of this year. One thing I will remember from this year was me getting kicked out of AP Biology.

2009

In 2009, I was in the tenth grade. My homeroom teacher was Ms. Rhodes. My best friends were Jasmine, and Yanie. My favorite movie of this year was the Hangover. The fad during that year was still Aeropostale, Hollister, and Jordans. My favorite song of this year was Photo Shoot by Gucci Mane. The fad during this year was Aeropostale, Hollister, and Jordans. My favorite song during this year was Photo Shoot by Gucci Mane. The things I most remember about this year was that I finished my AP Biology course. I also took the ACT for the first time.

2010

This year, I am in the eleventh grade. My homeroom teacher is Ms. Cherry. My best friends are Jasmine, Kjanah, Juareaka, Janay, Aero, Annika, Jade, Jessica, Tootie, Eric, Tudy #2, Taylor, Dominique, Takeya, Wesley, Josh, Marcalos, Rudolph, Len, Aaron, Roderick, Shanise, Sarah, Erin, Victoria, Jasmine C., Joseph, Antonio, Raven, Tenisha, Quianna, Karmin, Marcanzo, and Fadil. My favorite movie this year is Losers starring Zoe Salanda, and Why Did I Get Married Too ? directed by Tyler Perry. The fad this year is more expensive. The most popular clothes are G-Shocks, Polo, and Jordans. The most popular song during this year was Oh Let’s Do It by Wocka Flocka Flame. The thing I remember most so far about this year is me singing at my first wedding.
